Incredible production at Boomtown Fair. I was blown away by the storytelling and attention to detail. It was genuinely like walking into another world; A post-apocalyptic, big-brother corporation-controlled, fat-cat civilisation on the brink of collapse. In a good way.
Namvula – editorial portrait in Notting Hill
I met the grounded, charming and exceptionally talented Namvula in Notting Hill, to make a portrait to accompany a Rhythm Passport interview. Check out her beautiful album Quiet Revolutions on Bandcamp.
My WOMAD 2016
WOMAD this year was one of the best. I was there for the third time shooting for Rhythm Passport and as always it was a joy to be a part of that team of superstars. Even without founder and key superstar Kia, who was at home waiting for the arrival of his first child. Apart […]
Portrait of the week – Daymé Arocena
A brilliantly talented singer and composer, and an infectiously cheery personality – it was a joy to meet Daymé before her (also brilliant) gig at Richmix this week. I haven’t been posting many portraits of the week lately, but just had to share this one. It really does capture her spirit. Honestly, she repeatedly broke into song mid-sentence. It […]

Rhythm section Alfie & Gene
Alfie & Gene are a rhythm section duo based in Shoreditch. We had a bit of a lark around the Regents Canal in Shoreditch last week and here are some of the photos.
Robin Pearkes AKA Palmer
Ibibio Sound Machine
I had three minutes to grab this portrait of Eno, Ibibio Sound Machine’s super dynamic front woman, *after* their brilliant and extremely energetic show at Village Underground at the end of November. I’ll never know how she managed to look so cool and collected. Read the Rhythm Passport review.
Pascuala Ilabaca y Fauna at Richmix
I love this great new music coming from Chile and this was a wonderful concert. More pics as well as a gig review on Rhythm Passport.
Angelique Kidjo in concert
I don’t think I’ve ever been so gutted to have to leave the auditorium after the photographers’ normal three-song allowance. This was clearly going to be an electrifying concert and, according to this review, it was. Next time I’m getting me a ticket…
